Introduction
"Nation and Ancient Chinese History" by Fu Sinian collection of his research papers on ancient Chinese history prior to the Qin dynasty. It compiles five representative essays: The East-West Dichotomy of Yi and Xia, Jiang Yuan, Eastern Enfeoffments of Zhou and the Yin Remnants, The Theory of Greater and Lesser Eastern Territories, and On the So-called Five Ranks of Nobility. These interconnected essays systematically address issues long debated in historiography, including the origins, early development, and orthodox transmission of Chinese civilization24. HE Aixiang (1981—), a graduate of both the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures at Xiamen University and the College of Sociology and History at Fujian Normal University, holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature and a Ph.D. in History. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Fuzhou University, and a Council Member of the Fujian Translators Association.
